Based on an illustration by Frederic Remington, a renowned artist in the wild west era, The Buffalo Horse, is a beautifully depicted sculpture showing a Native American hunter trying to overcome and subdue a large powerful buffalo. It eventually goes under the horse and throws the hunter up into the air. This unique sculpture created is a historical and emotionally charged piece that captures the ritual of “buffalo running”  by the American Plains Indians. The original casting of The Buffalo Horse which measures about 32” high, is on display at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

Cast in bronze using the ancient lost wax process, The Buffalo Horse, is a beautiful rendition of Remington’s artwork. It represents one of the western statues that highlights character and beauty of the frontier and the events that happened in that timeline.
