In ancient Roman religion and mythology, King Neptune is recognized as the God of the sea. He is also equated on the same level as Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea and is said to bear characteristics of Poseidon taking the use of the trident and wearing a beard as well.

It features Neptune placing his foot over a dolphin which is typical representation of the animal as featured in ancient Roman art.
