The Abduction of a Sabine woman or The Rape of the Sabine, is a large and complex statue created by the Flemish sculptor, Giambologna which was commissioned for Cosimo l de' Medici. The statue is composed in a serpentine manner and is considered one of the best works known to mankind. Here, our abduction of a Sabine woman is based on the famous Giambologna work and highlights a bronze version of the masterpiece. The sculpture represents a young man who raises a girl in his arms, but during his act the man is blocked by an elder who is between his legs. Due to these three figures, the statue is also known as the three ages of man.
