The heron is a large wading bird that is celebrated by many cultures. The Chinese see the heron as a symbol of longevity while the Japanese view the heron as a symbol of purity. Japanese paintings for instance may contain images of white herons, gray herons and egrets. In Egypt, the heron is seen to be a messenger of God and is a creator of light.
Our heron sculpture also translates for use as a fountain statue for the garden pond or pool. It features two herons standing side by side on a base.
