An outstanding replica of the National Iwo Jima Monument, this inspiring large Iwo Jima statue reproduces the living memorial erected by the Iwo Jima Survivors Association in 1995. Dedicated to the 6,821 US servicemen that gave their lives on Iwo Jima during the 36 day battle that lasted from April 19-March 25, 1945 and also resulting in over 26,000 casualties, the sculpture depicts the five marines and one navy corpsman that raised the flag on Mount Suribachi on February 23, 1945.
There has been a discussion of the hidden meaning of the Iwo Jima statue and it’s been said there are 13 hands on the statue of Iwo Jima with the extra hand meant to symbolize the hand of God raising the flag.
Cast in bronze using the lost wax process, our large Iwo Jima statue captures the inspiring and noble statue that sits in South Texas and highlights vivid and pristine details paying special attention to the soldiers holding the American flag on Mount Suribachi which currently is installed in its new home at the National Museum of the Marine Corps Quantico, Virginia. Standing at close to 50” high including the top of the US flag, our close to life size Iwo Jima statue sits on a solid marble slab as shown and comes ready to be mounted onto a slab as a monument for those who gave their lives to the 36-day battle.
This inspiring statue will serve the armed forces and all those who respect the loss of lives and the work and dedication it took to get to Iwo Jima. It will strengthen and commemorate this defining moment and preserve history for future generations.
