Collection: Pelican Statues

Pelicans are carnivorous birds with a life span of 10-25 years and an average weight of 30 lbs when living in the wild. They are distinctly remembered because of the pouch under their throats which they use when catching fishes for their consumption. Pelicans typically travel in flocks and are known to inhabit all over the world. They can be found along coastlines as well as along lakes and rivers. These birds are known to hunt for fish by beating their wings on the surface to force the fishes into shallow waters. When the fishes move in the shallow waters, the pelicans will simply scoop them up in their bills. Culturally, pelicans are celebrated as symbols of charity in the Christian faith – the Catholics for instance see the pelicans as symbolizing Jesus. Also, when you dream of a pelican flying, it means you are a generous person who puts other people’s affairs before your own. Our pelican sculptures are beautifully detailed and designed for the garden. Please email us at tion_art@yahoo.com for more information on our bronze pelican sculptures and statues.
